Wendell Mottley, who resigned from the DFL board effective April 30, has been awarded the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the country's highest national award.

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Sept. 25, 2018 — The board, management and staff of Development Finance today congratulate Mr. Wendell Mottley on receiving the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, the country’s highest national award.

For more than 40 years, Mr. Mottley has been the consummate achiever modeling professional excellence in sport, politics and business.

A director on DFL’s board until his retirement in April, he maintained uncompromising standards for corporate governance and provided astute oversight and guidance to the board and management as the company charted a new course as a public-private partnership in 2011.

Mr. Mottley has earned an unblemished reputation as an industry thought leader. His selection for the nation’s highest accolade is a fitting honour given the tremendous contribution he has made to Trinidad and Tobago.
